Christmas 2024
We had a busy Christmas schedule, but we were disappointed when the Beverley Festival of Christmas was called off due to storm Darragh, but we had several very successful concerts: Friday 13th December we were at Brough Golf Club at 7.30pm, and then our main Christmas concert, Prelude to Christmas, was in Toll Gavel United Church on Sunday 15th December from 2.15pm.
Then we sang tradition carols in various pubs in the area.

We had another well received concert, this time in Dewsbury Minster. It was a fair way to go, travelling by coach, but with an early concert start (7pm) we were all home by 11pm.
Thankfully the snow had all disappeared by the time we arrived in Dewsbury, and even the rain from storm Bert had stopped.

We had great fun singing at the Goodmanham Arms, Goodmanham. It’s a shame we had the wrong weather, so our audience had to huddle underneath umbrellas.
Cherry Burton Concert

Our first concert of the year was at St Michael and All Angels Church in Cherry Burton and was very well received. We had a different format to usual with 4 separate soloists breaking up the choir songs: John Chapman, Chris Szafran, Liz Wilson and Albert Newberry entertained the full audence with a very varied selection of songs, and the audience had great fun joining in with the “Glory, Glory Hallelujahs” from our finale of Battle Hymn.
